Chat with Coach

NVL Blog: The Indians lost a lot of playmakers last season. Who are some players we don’t know that will have a big impact on the team this season?

Coach Veronneau: “Two players this year to keep an eye on are Matt Terlizzi and Anthony Yordon. Together in the offensive backfield they will pose some difficult matchups in the run game to go along with AJ Cattaneo, who started three games last year at the quarterback position.”

NVL Blog: What’s it going to take to dethrone Ansonia and win the NVL Brass Division in 2013?

Coach Veronneau: “For any team in the Brass to dethrone Ansonia it is going to take a perfect game and down game by Ansonia. In high school football nothing is ever impossible, but with the firepower they return it will be an extremely difficult task.”

NVL Blog: Torrington and Watertown are tied with 23 Thanksgiving Day wins each against each other. How exciting is it to play Torrington on Thanksgiving, and what are you saying to your guys this year the morning of the game?

Coach Veronneau: “Over my tenure at Watertown I have learned firsthand what the Helmet Game means to both communities. You can throw the records out the window, and the rivalry takes on a feeling of its own. This year our rallying cry every game will be to play as hard as you possibly can from whistle to whistle, and leave everything you have on the field every day you step on it. I have no doubt that Thanksgiving will be any different.”

One Response to “2013 Team Preview: Watertown Indians”

  1. I thought Cattaneo looked pretty good last year when he came in against Ansonia.
    Threw a nice ball.
